Hardaway, Callaway split round two doubleheaders

Posted: Updated:

The Hardaway Hawks split a doubleheader with Evans in Wednesday's second round of the GHSA AAAAA baseball playoffs.

After jumping out to a 4-0 lead in game one, Hardaway saw the Knights close it to 6-5 in the sixth. But captain catcher Josh Anthony drove in Blake Rupp with an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-5, and CJ Brown worked a clean seventh to move his record to 11-0 on the year.

Hardaway got out to an early lead in game two as well, leading 3-0, but Evans roared back to take the game, 10-5.

The two teams will meet in a winner-take-all game three on Thursday.
