Police: Man shot multiple times in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Greenville Police responded to a call of shots fired on 12th Street late Wednesday night.

It happened around 11:30 p.m.

Apparently, several men followed the victim home from the Sheetz gas station off Charles Blvd. Officers responding to the call said they found 24-year-old William Darnell Harris shot in the street at 205 East 12th Street; that's near the Providence Apartment Complex.

Police said he was shot several times in the legs. Several .22 caliber shell casings were recovered from the street.

Harris was transported to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.

An alert sent to ECU students said that two to three men were seen leaving the area in a green truck towards Charles Blvd.
