Rain and a few afternoon storms but not a washout

Posted: Updated:

A weak upper level trough in the northern Gulf will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms across southern Alabama and Georgia. Most of this will be across the panhandle of Florida. The cold front will drape across our region and set a weak boundary for the set-up for scattered showers early and a few thunderstorms by afternoon locally. We'll experience a few breaks of sunshine allowing us to warm in the lower 80s and increase a few thunderstorms.

Mother's Day will bring a cooler, breezy, and pleasant day. The work week will start more seasonable and sunny. The next disturbance will not be very impressive, with a weak front , which will stall out with enough unstable cool air aloft for fair weather clouds and only a mention for a sporadic shower by Day 5 and 6.
