WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Investigators say they're closer than ever to determining how a 24 year-old woman died. The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the discovery of 24-year-old Ashley Conerway's body outside of a Rambling Road home earlier this month led to the confiscation of among other things, 700 psychedelic mushrooms, firearms and marijuana.

Investigators have since charged her husband, Kelvin Conerway, with several drug charges.

According to WCSO Capt. Shawn Judy, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the woman's death, could know the manner of death by tomorrow.

Although investigators know she died from a gunshot wound, they say they're still waiting on the final autopsy results to know for sure exactly what led to that gunshot.

The investigation into the death of a 24-year-old Washington County, TN woman has opened the doors to an elaborate drug operation.

The sheriff's office received a call around 6:00 Sunday morning.  When responding officers arrived at the home on Rambling Road, they found a woman's body in the front yard.

Kelvin Conerway, 25,  invited officers into his home, but refused to unlock the door to one room. When investigators returned with a search warrant, they found the room to be filled with psychedelic mushrooms and materials used to grow them.

They recovered 700 mushrooms, two firearms, ¼ pound of marijuana, and ¼ of a pound of dried mushrooms. In all, the items found totaled around $50,000.

With an overarching look into the death and a drug operation at the same location - in his more than 30 years working in the county, Sheriff Ed Graybeal says he's never seen anything quite like this. "It (the body) was in the front yard. It was a white female. We really can't say that much about it because we want to make sure we contact all the right people, all the people that we need to... the unique thing about this is, we've seen mushrooms, but I've never seen a mushroom grow lab in the county."

Conerway faces charges of Manufacture Schedule I, Possession of Schedule VI for resale, possession of a firearm while committing a dangerous felony, and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold.

Sheriff Graybeal says Conerway has contacted his attorney and turned himself in over to law enforcement. His bond had been set for $40,000 and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information on this mushroom grow operation or any other details is asked to call Washington County Sheriff's Office at (423) 788-1414.

The sheriff's office is not releasing the woman's name until the next of kin has been notified.
