JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

A man is facing several charges after a bizarre incident along a busy Johnson City road Wednesday night.

Johnson City Police were called to a parking lot in the 3700 block of West Market Street where witnesses reported a man in a pickup truck repeatedly ramming another car.

A witness tried to approach the man who then went behind a building on the property and set fire to what appeared to be some of his personal belongings, police told News Channel 11.

When police confronted the man, he began to throw things at officers and attempted to hit them with a stick, police said.

"At that point a second officer that was on the scene was able to utilize his taser to subdue him," Sgt. Scotty Carrier, Johnson City Police.

Making the story even more bizarre, police said he man was driving is father's truck, and the car he rammed was his own vehicle.

The suspect whose name has not been released will be charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and reckless endangerment.  Look for video from the scene on News Channel 11.
