Father, son arrested in Columbus after police chase

PHENIX CITY, Ala. -

A father and son were arrested in Columbus after robbing the 14th Street Tire Shop in Phenix City and fleeing into Columbus.  Forty-nine-year-old Emory Chatwood and 26-year-old Scott Chatwood have been charged with robbery in the 1st Degree. 

The two fled the scene in a gray Hyundai, refusing to stop for police. A short vehicle chase ended on Broadway in Columbus where the Chatwoods were detained. A pistol was recovered from their car.

The Chatwoods were extradited to Alabama and are currently in the Russell County Jail.

The robbery victim suffered a head injury and was treated and released from the hospital.
