Henderson hired as Glenwood head coach

PHENIX CITY, Ala. -

Tripp Henderson has been hired as the newest head football coach at Glenwood School.

The move was announced at a school assembly on Thursday.

Henderson replaces Jason Allen, who left to take the head football coaching and athletic director job at Chambers Academy.

For Henderson, becoming a Gator is familiar. He led the program in 2006-07, amassing as 18-5 record.

"I'm comfortable here," Henderson said. "This is where I wanted to be. Looking back on the journey that got me back here, it's really humbling to me because I can look back now and I see God's fingerprints all over this."

Henderson says being able to come back with his family makes it even more special.

"Anytime you become a head coach, it's special, but to be able to come back here this way, and not only that but to bring my family with me," he said. "My wife will be here. My little girl's going to go to school here, and I mean, you can't put a price tag on that."
