Cory Rasmus called up by the Braves

Posted: Updated:

Former Russell County Warrior Cory Rasmus has been called up to the major leagues by the Atlanta Braves.

He is replacing Eric O'Flaherty who was put on the 15-day disabled list.

The re liver from Russell County has been virtually perfect at Triple-A Gwinnett this season.

He is 7-7 in save opportunities and has an ERA under one.

He will wear number 57.

This is the second of the Rasmus brothers to make it to the big leagues.

Of course, his brother Colby is a starting center fielder with the Blue Jays.

Their father Tony, the coach at Russell County High School, tweeted out earlier that he is super excited about Cory's promotion.
