Troup splits with Redan in State semifinal

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -

Troup County was on the road again in the playoffs on Monday.

They took on Redan in Stone Mountain, the same team that knocked off Columbus.

Game one against the Raiders started off well. The Tigers scored four runs in the first inning. The Tigers took an 8-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning.

But, Reden stole victory away on the last swing with a walk-off 3 run home run.

In game two, the Tigers jumped out to an early lead again. This time, they went up 2-0 in the early stages of the game.

Coach Craig Garner called on Jacob Ozley again in the 7th to preserve a 4-2 lead. Garner says he never hesitated to put Ozley back out there even after he surrendered the final home run of game one.

Ozley came through and the Tigers won game two by a score of 4-3.

The Tigers will play Redan in game three on Tuesday at 5pm.
