Greenville man facing charges for 3 armed robberies

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

A Greenville man is facing charges in connection with three armed robberies.

Pitt County Deputies say 21-year-old Jacques Chavis was arrested over the weekend. Witnesses identified him as the armed robber at T-Rays Bar on Highway 43 south on May 16.

After further investigation, deputies also tied Chavis to two armed robberies at the nearby EZ Mart.

The Sheriff's Office says at around11p.m. on May 1, two men robbed the EZ Mart on Hwy 43 at gunpoint. On May 10, two men robbed it again in the same way. 

Chavis is facing several charges including three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He's in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $760,000 secured bond.

Chavis will make his first court appearance Tuesday.

This case is still under investigation.
