Tampa teen arrested for credit card fraud

A teenager in Tampa used his mother's work computer to get 22 fraudulent credit cards, Hillsborough County Sheriff deputies told us.

Deputies arrested Devonte Courtney Jackson, 18, of Tampa, Tuesday.

Jackson's mother worked for Ace Home Care. Deputies told us, he searched through the employer's database to get patients' personal information.  He then filled out the applications and requested the cards be mailed to his friends, according to the HCSO report.

Jackson victimized 41 different people in the period from February till May. Detectives received the information on the 22 fraudulent credit cards and found a bag of the cards at Jackson's home.

Authorities charged Jackson with 41 counts of fraudulent use of person identification information and one count of trafficking in counterfeit credit cards.
