Man sought in Brooksville shooting

Posted: Updated:
BROOKSVILLE, FL (WFLA) -

The Brooksville Police Department is looking for 22-year-old Kyle Chunn who they say is armed and dangerous after he shot at two men early Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday at about 1:50 a.m., officers with the Brooksville Police Department responded to the Brookhaven Apartments after there was a report of shots being fired.

Officials say an investigation revealed that Chunn and 19-year-old Lacie Swan, both from Inverness, entered the apartment complex in a stolen Nissan Altima.  Chunn and Swan parked and approached two men who were standing in the parking lot.

That's when officials say, a verbal disturbance took place and ended when Chunn and Swan drove away from the area. Officials say Chunn and Swan circled the complex, then pulled the vehicle close to the same two men and had another verbal exchange.

This time, officials say, Chunn got out of the car holding a handgun and fired multiple shots at the two men.  The men were not hit and they escaped from the scene.

After the shooting Chunn and Swan exited the complex and were spotted by a Hernando County Sheriff's patrol going southbound on US Highway 41.  The deputy stopped the Altima near the Hernando County airport.

Officials say Lacie Swan was arrested at the scene of the traffic stop. Kyle Chunn ran out of the car, and is still on the run.

Lacie Swan was transported to the Hernando County Jail, and held on no bond status on two counts of Principle to Attempted Murder.

Kyle Chunn is wanted for two counts of Attempted Murder, with further charges pending.

If you have information regarding this crime, please contact the Brooksville Police Department at 352-540-3800. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Hernando County Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-866-990-8477 (TIPS) or go to http://www.hernandosheriff.org/Tips/.

Melanie and Jeffrey Cornwell should have been getting a tax break for years on part of the homestead property in Dunedin they call their "little piece of Heaven." But due to a mistake at the Pinellas Property Appraiser's Office, they won't see any rebates for previous taxes, just a break on future tax bills.
