ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) -

Ladies from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 and Unit 305 spruced up the historic Lincoln Cemetery, 600 58th St. S., on Saturday.  In honor of Memorial Day, they were there with trash bags, clippers and American flags to tidy up the grounds and place American flags at each of the Veteran's grave sites.

Located on the edge of St. Petersburg and the city of Gulfport, the Lincoln Cemetery is the final resting place for generations of African Americans -- among them Civil War veterans, community leaders and ordinary citizens.
