5 Women Graduate from Ft. Benning Course

Ft. Benning, Georgia -

5 women graduated from the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Maintenance course at Ft. Benning. This is the first time women have graduated from this program at Benning.

These 5 women were just as excited as the rest of the group to finish their training.

"I didn't really realize it until coming more and more to graduation like what we just did so it was awesome," says Private Haws.

Private Haws and the other 4 women spent 14 weeks in the training course. They will now be able to participate in this combat support unit since the Pentagon changed its policies earlier this year.

"I've got female cadre members and together we were able to show them it doesn't matter what your gender, together we'll get the mission done," says Captain Iommi.

The graduates spent 96 hours in training learning how to fix these machines in combat situations. Captain Iommi says no matter who you are, you can succeed.

"If you put in work and do PT and you show that you're a valuable member to the team, I don't care who you are you're going to be successful."

The group will be heading out to different places all over the country.
