Thousands of students in Russell and Muscogee Counties are among more than 56,000 students overall who have had classroom projects funded through a partnership with Donorschoose.org and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia. KMMG helped raise $75,000 contribution and team member allocations.
KMMG representatives visited Phenix City Elementary School in Phenix City and Double Churches Middle School in Columbus recently to present some of the items and to take a look at the impact being made in the classrooms. At Double Churches Middle School, the money was used to help buy music cases for the school's orchestra program.
"The reception our team members have received in the schools we have visited has been tremendous," said Randy Jackson, KMMG's vice president of human resources and administration. "It seems like every day we hear a new story or receive information from someone positively impacted by KMMG's partnership with DonorsChoose.org. Our team members did a great job getting the word out to the schools in this region and we are happy to have been able to fund so many projects in so many classrooms."
