Aerial search for marijuana lands two in jail

   AMERICUS, Ga.  An aerial search for marijuana in Sumter County has landed two people in jail.  The search was conducted Tuesday and resulted in the arrest of 20-year old Amber Danielle Conner and 21-year old Donnell Kitchens.  Both are charged with manufacturing marijuana and are being held in the Sumter County jail.

   The aerial search found marijuana plants growing in the area of 397 Pennington Road in Sumter County.  Authorities say the plants seized had a street value of around $8,000.

   The search was a joint effort of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, the National Guard, Georgia State Patrol, and the Governor's Task Force for Drug Suppression.

    Opelika police are searching for aman who made purchases using counterfeit money.On March 22, the suspect made two separate purchases at Target using two $100 counterfeit bills.
