2 arrested on manufacturing marijuana charge

AMERICUS, Ga. -

Two people are under arrest in Sumter County on charges of Manufacturing Marijuana.

Authorities say the Sumter County Sheriff's Office along with the National Guard, Georgia State Patrol and the Governor's Task Force for Drug Suppression conducted a search by air for marijuana growing in the Sumter County area.  The search on Tuesday resulted in marijuana being spotted in the area of 397 Pennington Rd.  Upon arrival to this location, plants were seized worth an approximate street value of $8,000.

Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested Amber Danielle Conner, 20 and Donnell Kitchens, 21.  Both Conner and Kitchens are being charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and are currently being held at the Sumter County Jail.
