RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. -

Officials say speed was a factor in a single-car accident that killed three teens and injured four others in Russell County.

It happened Sunday, on US-431 about one mile north of AL-26.

The Alabama State Patrol says Marvin Alexander, 37, was driving an SUV when it hit the guardrail and went off a bridge. He and three passengers, including a 9-year-old boy, a 58-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were transported to hospitals.

16-year-old Kateria Robinson, 15-year-old Darius Washington and 15-year-old Chelsea Tolbert, all died in the crash.
