Auburn, Alabama pass APR benchmark - WRBL

Auburn, Alabama pass APR benchmark

Posted: Updated:

Auburn and Alabama both had all of their sports pass the NCAA Academic Progress Rate benchmark of 930.

The Tigers men's basketball team posted the lowest score of 940, but that was a marked improvement from the 896 posted a year ago. The graduation of several seniors will help scores in the future, as well.

The highest scoring Auburn team was women's cross country at 992. Women's basketball scored 990, baseball 943 and football 950.

Alabama had 12 sports score over the 980 mark. Men's and women's golf and women's tennis each scored 1,000. Men's basketball scored a 995, with the women's team coming in at 977 and football at 978.

The APR was established 10 years ago by the NCAA to regulate eligibility, retention and graduation rates of student-athletes in all Division I sports.

Now that A-Day is over for the Auburn Tigers, we can look back what we have learned from Auburn this spring, and most of the lessons are centered around the passing game.
