Three Columbus families are celebrating their new homes thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
The organization presented the brand new energy efficient homes to the families.
They are living on 39th Street. One of the new homeowners says she is thrilled to be able to call herself a homeowner.
She says this is something that helped solidify a bond with her children.
"I felt bad because I never owned. I felt like I was a disappointment to them," said new homeowner Loretta Baldwin. "That rallied with me. Seeing this, we have a home, and they are excited."
State Farm was the main sponsor in this build. The next Habitat project is already in the planning stages.
They have already selected the family who will get the home. And they have found a sponsor in Chick-Fil-A in Midland.
