The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has cleared Columbus fire officials of altering files in a deadly 2010 day care blaze.
The district attorney requested the probe after allegations that files on the Mill Branch Road fire were tampered with to conceal evidence that a fire truck was under-staffed.
GBI officials say they have found nothing to support that claim, but the investigation isn't over yet.
The GBI is still looking into whether files were altered to show school inspections were conducted, when they actually weren't.
Officials say it could be at least another month before they're able to rule on that and a number of other lesser allegations.
