A local private care home is hoping to become the first of its kind in Georgia by adding an assisted living license.
The Gardens at Calvary cares for about 100 seniors in the community.
Nurses took about half of them to Calvary's church property to practice in case of an emergency.
"This is an essential step if a building has been granted assisted living licensure," says Co-Paster Jeff Struetker.
Struetker says they want to be able to care for seniors until they take their last breath and the license will let them do that.
The personal care home submitted the paperwork for the license at the end of May and are hoping to hear back soon.
