Memorial services this weekend for UNC student killed by tree

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Memorial services will be held this weekend for a UNC student who died after being hit by a tree during a severe storm last week.

Xuezhou Nan, of Cary, was a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill. Nan, who was known as Julia to friends and faculty, was fatally struck by a falling tree in the 300 block of East Franklin Street last week.

Nan had double-majored in psychology and biology at UNC.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Hills Chinese Baptist Church at 201 Dixie Trail in Raleigh. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Wake Memorial Park cemetery on Green Hope School Road in Cary.
