KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A suspect has been fatally shot and a deputy was wounded during a Knox County standoff.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel 21-year-old Jordan Richard Camp hid in a mobile home after running from a deputy who spotted him Thursday afternoon. The Knox County Sheriff's office said Camp had outstanding assault, leaving an accident scene and parole violation warrants.

Sheriff's officials said a SWAT team got into the trailer and found Camp had barricaded himself in a bedroom. Authorities said during negotiations, Camp threatened to kill himself and kill officers. When Camp pointed a gun out of the bedroom door, deputies fired.

A deputy underwent surgery for a leg wound. The department didn't immediately release his name until all family members were told he'd been wounded.
