Furloughs to affect Fort Benning ID Office

Posted: Updated:

FORT BENNING, Ga. – Due to sequestration, Fort Benning employees who issue ID cards will be furloughed for one day a week between July 8 and Sept. 30.

This will affect the number of available ID card /DEERS registration appointments and walk-in services. The ID card office will have a reduced number of appointments available on Mondays and Fridays.

Walk-in customers for ID cards will only be seen on an emergency basis.

Please do not wait to schedule an appointment. ID cards can be renewed 90 days prior to their expiration date.

To review the expiration dates for family members, Sponsors with Common Access Cards (CAC) can access RAPIDS Self-Service (RSS) http://www.dmdc.osd.mil/self_service/ . RSS is a website that allows CAC holders to update their information and verify family members for DoD ID card reissuance.
