MCRAE, Ga. (AP) - Telfair County investigators believe the death of a woman found in the Ocmulgee River was the result of foul play.
The body of the unidentified woman was found Thursday morning near a boat landing by fishermen.
Sheriff Chris Steverson told the Macon Telegraph newspaper Friday (http://bit.ly/12h9ioQ ) that investigators believe they know who the woman is, but have not confirmed her identity. Steverson said investigators worked through Thursday night on the investigation.
The woman's body was taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation laboratory in Atlanta for an autopsy.
