COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Three area players have been named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Award watch list.

The award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football.

Alabama's Christion Jones is one of nine players from the SEC on the list. The rising junior caught 27 passes for 368 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, and also led the Crimson Tide in punt return yardage and was second in kick return yardage.

From Georgia, Malcolm Mitchell is on the list as well. The junior Valdosta native was the second-leading receiver for the Bulldogs, hauling in 40 passes for four touchdowns, including the game-winner against Florida, all while being the team's leading punt returner.

Jamal Golden from Georgia Tech had a special 2012, and was rewarded with a spot on the list as well. Golden was the only player in the entire country to finish the season in the top-10 nationally in both punt- and kick-return average.
