3 questioned after Durham shooting

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police said officers are investigating a shooting  that occurred on Spruce Street near Juniper Street Thursday evening. 

Police said, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1200 block of Spruce Street just before 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Durham police said the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident.

Three individuals have been taken to Durham Police Headquarters for questioning following a brief car chase.

An officer spotted a vehicle believed to be the one involved in the shooting and attempted to stop it, authorities said. The driver refused to stop and officers pursued it. The chase ended on Evans Street.

No charges have been filed at this time.
