WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -

The Northern Little League All-Stars suffered their first loss in 10 postseason games Friday afternoon, dropping game one of the Southeast Regional, 3-2 to South Carolina.

Northern trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth, but after Austin Hicks doubled to center with one out and advanced to third on a passed ball, the lead was cut to one when he scored on a Trent Grantham sacrifice fly.

The loss does not hurt Northern too badly. They will face North Carolina Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET in the second of three pool play games. Florida is the next opponent, Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

The regional is divided into two four-team pools. The top two teams from each pool will advance to Wednesday's semifinals.
