NBC launches the splashy new "Million Second Quiz" show in September, and information is already up online for people who want to get a feel for the new venture – or try to get in the game.

The event, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, debuts on air Monday, Sept. 9, and concludes Sept. 19. The "Million Second Quiz" will feature a huge hourglass-shaped structure in Manhattan. Contestants will enter, answer trivia and look to make it to "Winner's Row.'"

The game will give contestants a chance to win $1 million – or more.

But the idea different from traditional shows in that everyone can play and anyone can get a chance to win. You can go online and apply to be a contestant now, and followers will be able to play the game online as it evolves. Applicants must be 18 years or older as of July 12.

There are open calls in Philadelphia Sunday and in New York Aug. 24. But potential contestants can apply online through the show's website. You can find that information here.
