Crooks in Raleigh try to steal tools, but get stuck

RALEIGH, N.C. -

It's a burglary attempt that...wasn't very thought out.

Police arrested a man and a woman after they say they tried to steal a trailer full of tools parked at a construction site.

Raleigh Police officers responded to 904 Williamson Dr. Thursday.

Officers learned that the suspects had cut the lock to the trailer.

But when the suspects tried to drive away, police said the truck became stuck on the construction site.

The suspects called a tow truck to assist them.  The tow truck arrived, but prior to freeing the suspect vehicle, construction workers arrived and discovered the larceny.

The suspects then fled the area on foot.

The tow truck driver blocked the truck in until police arrived. The tools were recovered.  The suspects were located and arrested.

Police arrested 25-year-old Angelica Marie Torres and 29-year-old Jamie Rene Torres.

Both are charged with felony larceny, conspiracy to commit felony larceny, injury to personal property, and possession of burglary tools.
