The Catuala Volunteer Firefighters were up early Saturday morning raising money to send children with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp. Firefighters were at various intersections around the city to "Fill Their Boots."
They collected money all Saturday morning and hosted a bar-be-que at their fire station Saturday afternoon. Lieutenant Donnie Garren said it is priceless to be able to send these children to camp.
"We look around and see other kids playing and stuff and you know they have to sit back and watch but just for that one week it makes a world of difference," said Garren.
They camp cost $800.00 per child. They raised $2,700 Saturday bringing their total to $6,4000. They hope to send 8 children to camp next summer.
