20 arrested, 35 charged in Wayne Co. drugs and weapon roundup

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -

A joint undercover investigation by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and Mount Olive Police Department resulted in 35 people being charged with 116 drugs and weapon offenses Wednesday.

The operation was county-wide, spanning from Fremont to Mount Olive. The areas the investigation focused on were those where police had received the most complaints from residents about drug activity.

Out of the 35 charged in the roundup, 20 were arrested.
