The influence of an upper level ridge will combine with warm northwest winds to boost temperatures above the 90-degree mark the next few days.

Starting Friday, a surface front will drop in to provide a focus for showers and thunderstorms near the boundary, with help from an upper air disturbance forecast to move westward into the northern Gulf from Florida.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible from Friday afternoon all the way through at least the Labor Day holiday, with most of the activity expected to develop in the latter part of the day.  The additional clouds and threat of rain will keep temperatures close to seasonal averages.
