Reward upped in Valley gas station armed robbery

Posted: Updated:
VALLEY, Ala. -

Valley police and crime stoppers have upped the reward being offered for information related to an armed robbery of a gas station from earlier this month, the police department announced Thursday. The police department along with the Greater Valley Area Crime Stoppers has increased the reward to $7,000. It was previously $2,000.

"The Greater and Area Crime Stoppers has allocated $2,000 and the remainder of the reward is from pledges and donations made by local citizens," Maj. Mike Reynolds says in a news release.

Around Noon August 15, Chuck Hudmon, a clerk at Triangle Service Station, was found unconscious in the store after suffering a single gunshot, authorities say. Police now believe the suspects fled the scene in a silver or gray four door Cadillac or similar body style car. They had originally thought they left in a truck.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Valley Police Department at 334-756-5200 or the Valley Area Crime Stoppers at 334-756-8200.
