FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are asking for help in finding the people involved in a fatal shooting early Friday morning.

Officers responded to a call at Chief's 25 Plus at approximately 2:20 a.m. in reference to a report of a shooting at the nightclub located at 612 W. Rowan St. When officers arrived on scene, they were able to locate a black male in the parking lot that had been fatally shot.

Police later identified the victim as Derrick Morrisey, 37, of Raeford. Officers said Morrisey was walking a woman to her car when he was caught in the cross fire of an apparent robbery taking place in the club's parking lot.

Police are looking for two vehicles seen in the parking lot and seen leaving on Bragg Boulevard. One vehicle is describes as a black SUV and the second, a compact silver Hyundai.

"We're just asking them whatever you saw, no matter how minute you may think it is, to please give us a call, and we will put those pieces together," Assistant Police Chief Charles Kimble said.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting or the identity of the suspects involved, is asked to call detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
