Auburn practices for Mississippi State

AUBURN, Ala. -

The Auburn Tigers practiced for one hour in helmets and shorts on Sunday evening at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields.

Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee was pleased with what he and the rest of the coaching staff learned about the team in Saturday's 38-9 win over Arkansas State and feels the team took a step forward.

"We're learning more and more about our guys every day," Lashlee said. "We're learning what they're better at and what they're worse at every day.

"I think as a whole we saw improvement between game one and game two."

Auburn returns to the practice field Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers open SEC play on Saturday at 6 p.m. when they host Mississippi State inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
