DURHAM, N.C. -

What to do in Syria is a question people are asking across the United States and the world, including here in the Triangle.

A crowd gathered at CCB Plaza in downtown Durham Monday night to voice opposition to a U.S. strike in Syria.

Several dozen people showed up.

Holding posters and bullhorns, demonstrators said a military attack from the U.S. will not end violence in Syria and will not bring opposing sides closer together.

People at the event said even though they may not change the minds of the people making decisions, they can stand together with the people of Syria.

Organizers also saw the rally as a teach-in, hoping the crowd will learn something about the conflict.
