White doves to be released in honor of 9/11 first responders

POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

On Wednesday, white doves will be released in honor of the first responders who died during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Fifty white doves will be released at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Polk County Sheriff's Office Operation Center, located on Jim Keene Blvd.

Law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel are invited to attend along with members of the public.

The release also marks the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
