Auburn University officially opened its new 58,000-square-foot kinesiology research facility Thursday. The building houses laboratories where a broad range of research will be conducted relating to human movement, health and performance. It's located at 301 Wire Road.
The first floor houses the school's pediatric movement and physical activity laboratory and four biomechanics labs. On the second floor you will find epidemiology, physical education and exercise behavior labs as well as the TigerFit program. The top floor features muscle physiology, cardioprotection, neurovascular, muscle metabolism, neuromechanics and thermal labs.
Auburn's School of Kinesiology is ranked 22nd in the nation according to the university.
