Maneuver Warfighter Conference hosted at Ft. Benning

Ft. Benning, Georgia -

The Maneuver Warfighter Conference wrapped up at Fort Benning Friday afternoon. It combined the Army's Infantry, Armor and Cavalry communities to talk about training initiatives and new technology.

Major General H.R. McMaster gave the closing comments at the conference and spoke to News Three about how the army budget cuts will impact the area.

"Ft. Benning is always going to be at the heart of our army. There is not a threat to Ft. Benning's mission here. It's a question of what reductions there might be here because our army will be reduced in size significantly," said Major General H.R. McMaster.

Major General H.R. McMaster said the overall size of the cuts are hard to tell right now but they will try to reduce costs in order to protect core missions at Ft. Benning like non commissioned officer training, leadership development, and combat development.
