Paula Deen makes first public appearance in months

HOUSTON, Tx. -

On Saturday, Celebrity Chef Paula Deen made her first public appearance in months since reports that she used racial slurs in the past.

About 1,400 people bought tickets to the Metro Cooking Show in Houston, Texas.

A roaring crowd and a standing ovation brought Deen to tears.

When addressing the racial allegations Deen said the past three months have been a roller coaster. "It was an opportunity to learn. I learned a lot about myself and I've certainly learned a lot about my business. and I just want to thank y'all from bottom of my heart."

Before the show people shelled out $140-$400 for VIP tickets to meet Deen and her sons. People posed for pictures and cookbooks were signed.
