LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) -

Family and friends came together Monday in Lakeland to remember 12-year-old Rebecca Ann Sedwick.  She apparently leaped to her death at a cement plant after being cyberbullied for more than year.

The funeral service took place at Whidden McLean Funeral Home on Main Street.  Friends and family wore lime colored shirts to show their support.  They say they still can't believe this happened.

"Nobody should have to go through that," said Diamond Hannah, Rebecca's best friend.

Hannah said she saw girls pick on Rebecca at school, but she didn't realize how bad it had become.  Sedwick's family says the girl deactivated her Facebook account and changed schools, but the bullies found her using other social media accounts.

People who spoke at the funeral says the way to stop bullying starts at home.

"I would look at them and say, "god did very good when he gave you to us. Tell your children that," one mourner said.

Meanwhile, investigators have confiscated software and social network passwords from several young people who were close to Sedwick, or may have knowledge of the bullying.
