New Miss America causing racial waves

Posted: Updated:

The new Miss America is stirring up racial comments after being crowned Sunday night in Atlantic City.  24-year-old Nina Davuluri is the pageant's first Indian-American winner.  Davuluri is from Fayetteville, New York.  She was on the dean's list and earned the Michigan Merit Award and National Honor Society honors while studying at the University of Michigan.  She graduated with a degree in brain behavior and cognitive science, hoping to one day become a doctor like her father.

She was born in the United States.  But not long after her crowning messages of hate and disgust hit the internet questioning how the judges could crown her as Miss America.  In today's online trending segment, our Jeff Varner takes a look.
