The Muscogee County School District is in the process of shooting a safety training video. The district says the goal is to train students in grades six through twelve and employees of the district how to respond safely during an active shooting in a school.
No school shootings have occurred in Muscogee County, but there have been numerous incidents across the country. The school district says they want to continue to be proactive to prevent and deter safety threats.
The training video that is underway involves student actors and participants in theatre classes within the district. The project is being conducted along with the Columbus State University Department of Communications. The training video is expected to be released in October.
