Sandy to blame for Jersey boardwalk fire

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ -

Hurricane Sandy is to blame for a massive New Jersey boardwalk fire that destroyed more than 50 businesses last week, CBS News reports.

Electrical wiring and equipment damaged by the superstorm a year ago started the fire, authorities announced Tuesday. The equipment had been inaccessible since Sandy struck in late October.

Gov. Chris Christie said Friday that government grants or loans could be made available to businesses to cover costs that insurance will not cover.
