Walk to End Alzheimer's comes to Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

The Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held on Friday, Sept. 27th in Uptown Columbus.

For the first time the Walk will partner with the Uptown Concert Series featuring the band Lava Lamps and hopes to turn Uptown Columbus PURPLE

Check in for the Walk will begin in the 1000 block of Broadway at approximately 5:45 p.m., with Opening Ceremonies at about 6:20 p.m. followed immediately with the 2 mile walk through Uptown and along the Riverwalk.

The Walk will end at the concert where everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the family friendly concert. To register or donate to the Walk To End Alzheimer's go to www.georgiawalk.org or call 706-327-6838.

    An Amber Alert has been canceled after 2-year old Maliah Harris was found safe in Georgia. Her 7-month-old sibling, Alyssa, was found dead and Maliah disappeared from a Mississippi home which prompted authorities to issue the alert. The girls parents, Donald Boyd Harris,34, and Allison Studdard, 31, are now in custody.
