21 Students Arrested On 3 Campuses

MOBILE, Alabama -

13 students were handcuffed and escorted out of Williamson High School Thursday by Mobile Police. Our cameras were rolling when at least 7 of those students were arrested for disorderly conduct.

"The school was put on lockdown, but it was not a lockdown where we cover the windows and doors. It was just to get the kids back in the classroom," said Nancy Pierce, Spokeswoman for Mobile County Public Schools.

Police responded to two different fights Thursday on the campus.

"The one in the morning they got under control. Kids were back in the classroom, everything was fine. Later on another fight started. I have no idea if it was related to the first fight," said Pierce.

Mobile Police responded to the first fight at 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning. 5 females were arrested.

A few hours later police were back on campus. 6 males and 2 more females were picked up and hauled off to the Strickland Youth Center.

"There were no weapons involved in either fight which is good. We don't like people using their fists and fighting, either. It needs to stop and I think the community would want it to stop, I think the parents want it to stop. That's not what school is all about," said Pierce.

A student was also arrested Thursday at Denton Middle School in Mobile. That student was charged with harrassment and sent to Strickland Youth Center.

On Wednesday 3 fights broke out at Theodore High School. 7 students were arrested and sent to Strickland Youth Center.
