USPS announces Ray Charles Forever stamp

WASHINGTON, D.C. -

The U.S. Postal Service will dedicate a new Forever stamp honoring music legend Ray Charles.

The stamp release will be held on what would have been the singer's 83rd birthday. The Ray Charles stamp wraps up the 2013 Music loon series, which also features Mexican American Lydia Mendoza and country artist Johnny Cash.

The Ray Charles stamp will be dedicated at two first-day-of-issue ceremonies on Monday, September 23, in Atlanta at the ray Charles Performing Arts center at Morehouse College and at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles.

    Coroner Buddy Bryan tells News 3 that they are now calling the fire that claimed the life of a Columbus mother and her infant a homicide.As news 3 reported --the bodies of 32-year-old Rosella Mitchell and her 6-month-old boy Dylan Conner- were found in a back bedroom of their Winifred Lane home after a fire around midnight Thursday.Detectives previously told News 3 they were collecting and analyzing evidence from the scene to determine whether accelerants may have been used to start the fire....
