Fayetteville police ID victim, suspect in deadly hit-and-run

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

One person is on custody after their involvement in a fatal hit-and-run collision with a pedestrian Sunday night just after 8 p.m. in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville police responded to the area of Pamalee Drive at the Blanton Road intersection in response to a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived at the scene they found a female victim already deceased. Police have identified the victim as Cynthia Beasley, 55.

Police say Beasley was struck by an SUV driven by 30-year-old Elizabeth Robinson.

Robinson fled the scene and was later located by police officer at 3244 Green Valley Road. Robinson was taken into custody  and is charged with felonious hit-and-run, driving while impaired, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robinson was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center and received an unsecured bond.
